The Professional Standards for BC Educators provide a clear and meaningful guide for what it means to be an effective and responsible educator. I appreciate how the standards focus not only on teaching knowledge and skills, but also on relationships, ethical practice, and ongoing professional growth. Through my experiences working with youth in community and recreation settings, I have seen how important it is to build trust, show respect, and create a sense of belonging. These experiences connect strongly to the standards and continue to shape how I approach teaching. I am committed to reflecting these values in my practice and growing as an educator throughout my career.
